The Moms and Dads Club is sponsoring a presentation for parents on Wednesday, January 29th at 6:30pm in the OLSM Dining Hall.
Come and hear advice, suggestions, and tips on creating a college list, strong resume, and how to navigate the college search. This presentation is for parents in grades 9-11 who are interested in hearing about life after OLSM. Current students will share their experiences, answer parent questions, and provide ideas and suggestions. Come and hear great advice directly from students who have just completed this process!
Our student panelists are still waiting on college decisions, but have been accepted so far at Hope College, Indiana University, Michigan State University, the University of Florida, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, the University of Miami, the University of South Carolina, Texas Christian University, Wayne State University, and the University of Detroit Mercy. They have successfully applied for scholarships, honors colleges, film, and business school early admission programs. They will speak about the teams, clubs, and service organizations that they belong to and the steps they have taken to define their options.
We will also have senior parents on our panel who will speak on how to best guide your children.
Ann Bartus will be on hand to support our student panelists and guide the discussion. She is a Certified Educational Planner and college counselor who has read applications for the University of San Francisco, the University of California-Berkeley, and has guided her own child through the college application process.
